Margaret A. Barry, brings a diverse background and wealth of experience to our board. Prior to her legal career, Margaret worked as a Special Educator, demonstrating her dedication to serving others and advocating for those in need.
Margaret received her law degree from Temple University School of Law and her undergraduate degree from St. Joseph’s University. Throughout her extensive legal career, Margaret focused on Mass Tort Law, Toxic Tort litigation, and Complex Personal Injury cases. Her commitment to justice and advocacy extended beyond her legal practice, as evidenced by her active involvement in professional associations such as the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association (PTLA) and the Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association (PATLA).
Margaret’s leadership within the legal community is commendable, having served on various committees and holding positions such as Editor of PTLA’s newsletter, The Verdict, and Chair of numerous PTLA Board Committees. Her dedication to upholding ethical standards is evident through her appointment as a Hearing Examiner by the Disciplinary Board of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, where she decided cases involving allegations of attorney misconduct and ethics violations.
In addition to her legal career, Margaret is deeply engaged in community service and volunteerism. Her commitment to education is exemplified by her roles on the Board of Trustees of The Philadelphia School and as President of The Philadelphia School Association. She also volunteers her time at Old St. Joseph’s Church and has served as Chair of the Friends Select School’s Benefactor’s Society. Margaret’s passion for education extends to teaching for the Children’s Scholarship Fund Philadelphia’s summer enrichment program, where she has made a significant impact on the lives of young learners. Margaret’s dedication to serving her community, coupled with her extensive legal expertise, makes her an invaluable asset to our board.
