CEO Retirement and Succession Plan

Phoenix, AZ: Secured Futures announced on April 21, 2022, that Tom P. Avramis, Chief Executive Officer, will retire on August 31, 2022. The Board of Directors has appointed Nathan Schnackenberg to succeed Avramis as Chief Executive Officer on September 1, 2022, at which time Schnackenberg will join the Secured Futures Board. Avramis will become Special Advisor to the Board of Directors and CEO.

“On behalf of the Board of Directors, the Executive Team, and Secured Alliance’s 40 employees, we want to thank Tom for his leadership and impact over his tenure with the organization,” said David Johnson, Secured Alliance Board Chair. “To build upon the foundation Tom has curated, Nate is the right leader for Secured Alliance and its affiliate organizations. Nate’s extensive non-profit leadership background and business development skills should help Secured Alliance, and its affiliate organizations, strengthen strategic partnerships, develop long-term strategies and expand its national presence.”

Schnackenberg’s selection is the culmination of a robust, multi-year leadership development and succession planning process by the Board and Executive Leadership team.

“I am very enthusiastic about the future of our organization and am very pleased that we represent the gold standard of service for our clients and partners,” said Avramis, who has agreed to remain on the Board as a special advisor for three years.

Schnackenberg joined Secured Futures in 2018 when it joined Secured Alliance. In June of 2021, Schnackenberg was promoted to CEO of Secured Alliance’s venture company, SAV. During his time as CEO, he spearheaded the launch of ProE Technologiesa technology suite designed for fiduciaries. He also played a major role in business development and the overall growth of the venture firm.

It influences the way we serve our clients, and advocate for them,” said Chief Operating Officer, Charnise Mothershed. “Tom passing the baton to Nate keeps our organizational culture intact – which is invaluable.” Mothershed continued.

Although the CEO transition has already begun. The Executive Management Team will continue to report to Avramis during the transition until the end of August.

“I am looking forward to this opportunity to lead Secured Alliance, and its affiliate organizations, in this next chapter and to continue developing, growing, and innovating in the hopes of realizing the promise of this great organization,” Schnackenberg said.
